What is Bravecto?

Bravecto is the first FDA-approved treatment that offers 12 weeks protection against fleas and ticks. It comes in pork-flavored soft chews and easy-to-apply topicals. Available for both dogs and cats.

Bravecto chews provide up to 12 weeks of protection against fleas and ticks for dogs. Each chew starts killing fleas within 2 hours and controls 4 tick species: black-legged tick (deer tick), American dog tick, brown dog tick, and lone star tick (8 weeks protection only). Bravecto also eliminates existing flea infestations and prevents new ones from developing for 12 weeks. The chews come in various doses for different sized dogs and are safe to use with puppies from 6 months old and weighs 4.4 pounds (2 kg) or more.

Bravecto topical contains the same active ingredient as the chews for external application in dogs and cats. It also protects against fleas and ticks for 12 weeks. Bravecto for dogs (topical) kills fleas and controls 4 tick species: black-legged tick (deer tick), American dog tick, brown dog tick, and lone star tick (8 weeks protection only). Bravecto for cats (topical) kills fleas and controls 2 tick species: black-legged tick (deer tick) and American dog tick (8 weeks protection only).

Who are Bravecto chews and topicals for?

Bravecto chew is for dogs and puppies over 4.4 lbs (2 kg) and over 6 months of age.

What are the side effects?

Some of the adverse reactions are vomiting, decreased appetite, diarrhea, lethargy, polydipsia, flatulence.

What special precautions are there?

Not for human use. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. Keep the product in the original packaging until use, in order to prevent children from getting direct access to the product.

Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling the product. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water immediately after use of the product.

How effective is Bravecto (fluralaner)?

For dogs

In a well-controlled U.S. field study, a single dose of Bravecto reduced fleas by ≥99.7% for 12 weeks. Dogs with signs of flea allergy dermatitis showed improvement in erythema, alopecia, papules, scales, crusts, and excoriation as a direct result of eliminating flea infestations.

For cats

In a well-controlled U.S. field study, a single dose of Bravecto reduced fleas by ≥99% for 12 weeks. Cats with signs of flea allergy dermatitis showed improvement in erythema, alopecia, papules, scales, crusts, and excoriation as a direct result of eliminating flea infestations.
